Lichfield recycling trucks carry joke to promote new website

Lichfield District Council's webmaster Stuart Harrison with one of the adverts
A tongue in cheek advert can now be seen all over Lichfield on the side of recycling trucks.
The ‘waiter, waiter there’s a fly in my soup advert’ promotes the recently re-launched Lichfield District Council website www.ratemyplace.org.uk.
The food hygiene website allows customers to have peace of mind that the coffee shop or restaurant they are planning visit in Staffordshire has got good hygiene procedures in place.
By logging onto the website, customers can check how many stars the café, coffee shop or work canteen has been awarded by local Food Safety Inspectors, and make an informed choice about where they eat.
Councillor Ben Adams, Cabinet Member for Community, Housing and Health, said:
“We wanted to grab people’s attention so we went back to one of the most famous jokes of all times. The punch line, ‘you should have logged onto www.ratemyplace.org.uk’, is obviously of our own creation!”
As well as the traditional site there is also a mobile phone-friendly version too.

Do you follow up to see the “immediate attention” work has been done? If so i think we should have a link to the up to date report.
