Cardiff City’s record signing could face Chasetown

Chasetown FC fans could get a chance to see Cardiff City’s new record signing in action when the two sides meet in a pre-season friendly.

Michael Chopra, who spent part of last season on loan with the Bluebirds, is set to complete a £3million move from Sunderland today.

His first opportunity to pull on the Cardiff colours as a permanent member of the playing squad would come against Charlie Blakemore’s men on July 10.

The match will be the first time the Welsh side will kick a ball in their new Cardiff City Stadium, with only a legends game taking place before Chasetown’s visit.
