What’s on at the Lichfield Festival – July 18

Some of Scotland’s finest musicians are set to come together at the Lichfield Garrick.

Moishe's Bagel

Moishe's Bagel

The 8pm concert by Moishe’s Bagel will conjure up an intoxicating mix of Eastern European dance music, Middle Eastern rhythms and jazz-inflected klezmer.

But if classical sounds are more your thing, then the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra are back in Lichfield after a five year absence.

The concert takes place at Lichfield Cathedral at 7.30pm.

Earlier in the day, the Lady Chapel plays host to a 12.15pm concert by Charlotte Scott (violin), Christian Elliott (cello) and James Baillieu (piano), while at 12.30pm at the Lichfield Garrick the Travelling Picture Show presents The Red Balloon and The White Mane.

Tales of Terror continues at the Lichfield Garrick Studio at 7.45pm as do the free exhibitions by Angie Lewin, Alistair Tucker and Andy Lovell at Lichfield Cathedral.

Much Ado About Nothing takes place in Stowe House Gardens at 2pm, while Komaneko tells the tale of a cat who discovers animation can be fun – and hard work too (10.45am, Lichfield Garrick).

And the free Festival Firework Finale in Beacon Park will ensure this year’s event goes out with a bang at 10.15pm.
