Council set to discuss plan to freeze market rents

lichfieldmarketThe rents for Lichfield’s market traders are set to be frozen.

The issue will be discussed at a meeting of Lichfield City Council tomorrow (January 26) with a recommendation that the rates be kept at this year’s levels.

Councillors are likely to give their backing to the proposals which are designed to help keep the market busy in the current economic conditions.

The freeze on rents and service charges is expected to be in place for the next year and will affect traders at markets on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and the Farmers’ Market held on Market Square in the city centre.
